NUTRIPAEDS has adopted measures to protect the confidentiality of your personal information and the processes we have in place are designed to give effect to your options within a reasonable time frame. We will install a system deemed by the director of NUTRIPAEDS to satisfactorily protect your data from loss or theft within the context of the business of NUTRIPAEDS.
In the event that we offer e-commerce facilities, we will ensure that payment systems are secure when used in the manner directed by the pay portal.
In the event that someone other than the card holder gains access to your card and pin number NUTRIPAEDS cannot be held responsible or liable for unauthorized purchases made via our website. However once we are informed by e-mail of an unauthorized purchase, we will co-operate with you or your bank or credit card company to mitigate the loss. It will always remain your responsibility to immediately place a block on your card and follow the reporting rules of your bank or credit card company.
Special Notice to Parents
The focus of NUTRIPAEDS is primarily on paediatric nutritional education and advice. In the event that we want to share a life story of one of our clients we will always ensure that the prior permission of a parent or guardian is obtained via e-mail, before we publish content that involves a child. This also applies to any photo of the child and or the parent or guardian. Once such permission has been granted to NUTRIPAEDS it will only be valid for that specific story or event. If at a later time a second event or story seems news worthy to publish on the website, permission will be sought again by NUTRIPAEDS. In other words there is no such thing as “once permitted, always permitted”.
Customer Profiles and Cookies
As mentioned earlier in this policy, every registered client has a unique personal profile. Each profile is then assigned a unique personal identification number, which ensures that only you can access your profile.
When you register, we create your profile, assign a personal identification number then send this number back to your hard drive in the form of a cookie, which is a very small bit of code. This code is uniquely yours. Think of it as your passport to seamless travel across the NUTRIPAEDS website, allowing you to download free stuff, subscribe to Newsletters and visit premium sites without having to fill out additional registration forms. Even if you switch computers, you won’t have to re-register, you will simply use your username and password to identify yourself and you’re good to go.
When Will We Be Obliged to Share Your Personal Information?
NUTRIPAEDS will only disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, that is a statutory obligation or court order forcing us to do so, but, only after we have consulted with our own legal counsel to ensure that the demand to disclose your personal information is within the parameters of the law. If it should come to the attention of NUTRIPAEDS that a fraud or other criminal act has been committed and the rights of NUTRIPAEDS and /or one or more of its registered users may be prejudiced, then we may, after consultation with our legal counsel, disclose your personal information if such disclosure can be shown to be necessary to protect the rights that may be infringed.
