The Internet is an amazing tool. With only a few mouse-clicks we can follow the news, look up facts, buy goods and services and communicate with others around the world.
It’s important to NUTRIPAEDS therefore to help visitors to our website to retain their privacy while they benefit from what we have to offer.
This Policy is our way to assure you that we intend to do everything that is required by South African privacy laws (and then a little more) to ensure that the personal information you choose to share with us on the NUTRIPAEDS website, is protected.
This means we will not sell or give away your name, e-mail address, telephone number or other personal details you share with us, to any other person or institution.
To achieve this, we will use security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.
We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you, or allows us to contact you. Normally this type of information is requested when you;
We then use your personal information for four primary purposes:
You have a right to choose not to register or provide us with your personal information. You can of course still visit and browse the NUTRIPAEDS website but you will not be able to access areas on the website that require you to register.
If you decide to register you will be able to select what information you want us to share with you and you may select whether or not you want to subscribe to a service being offered, for example a Newsletter.
If you choose to have access to one specific offer or service, you will not automatically be required to accept other offers or services that are also being offered at the time.
It may happen that the NUTRIPAEDS team believe that another company (a third party) has a product or service that could be of interest to our registered viewers and if you opt-in to receive third party marketing, then you could be contacted directly by such a company. But, if you prefer not to be told about the products or services of a third party then you simply opt-out of this opportunity.
If at any time you wish to “opt out” or “unsubscribe” entirely, there will be a link that will direct you to the appropriate page. Once you have opted out or unsubscribed you will not be contacted again. Just note that the technical process to give effect to this choice may take up to two business days.
NUTRIPAEDS will provide you with the means to ensure that your personal information is correct and current. You will at any time be able to review and update this information on the appropriate page.
NUTRIPAEDS has adopted measures to protect the confidentiality of your personal information and the processes we have in place are designed to give effect to your options within a reasonable time frame. We will install a system deemed by the director of NUTRIPAEDS to satisfactorily protect your data from loss or theft within the context of the business of NUTRIPAEDS.
In the event that we offer e-commerce facilities, we will ensure that payment systems are secure when used in the manner directed by the pay portal.
In the event that someone other than the card holder gains access to your card and pin number NUTRIPAEDS cannot be held responsible or liable for unauthorized purchases made via our website. However once we are informed by e-mail of an unauthorized purchase, we will co-operate with you or your bank or credit card company to mitigate the loss. It will always remain your responsibility to immediately place a block on your card and follow the reporting rules of your bank or credit card company.
The focus of NUTRIPAEDS is primarily on paediatric nutritional education and advice. In the event that we want to share a life story of one of our clients we will always ensure that the prior permission of a parent or guardian is obtained via e-mail, before we publish content that involves a child. This also applies to any photo of the child and or the parent or guardian. Once such permission has been granted to NUTRIPAEDS it will only be valid for that specific story or event. If at a later time a second event or story seems news worthy to publish on the website, permission will be sought again by NUTRIPAEDS. In other words there is no such thing as “once permitted, always permitted”.
As mentioned earlier in this policy, every registered client has a unique personal profile. Each profile is then assigned a unique personal identification number, which ensures that only you can access your profile.
When you register, we create your profile, assign a personal identification number then send this number back to your hard drive in the form of a cookie, which is a very small bit of code. This code is uniquely yours. Think of it as your passport to seamless travel across the NUTRIPAEDS website, allowing you to download free stuff, subscribe to Newsletters and visit premium sites without having to fill out additional registration forms. Even if you switch computers, you won’t have to re-register, you will simply use your username and password to identify yourself and you’re good to go.
NUTRIPAEDS will only disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, that is a statutory obligation or court order forcing us to do so, but, only after we have consulted with our own legal counsel to ensure that the demand to disclose your personal information is within the parameters of the law. If it should come to the attention of NUTRIPAEDS that a fraud or other criminal act has been committed and the rights of NUTRIPAEDS and /or one or more of its registered users may be prejudiced, then we may, after consultation with our legal counsel, disclose your personal information if such disclosure can be shown to be necessary to protect the rights that may be infringed.
Should you have a question relating to this policy or, you believe that NUTRIPAEDS has not fulfilled its obligations in terms of this policy, you may send an e-mail with as much detail as possible to;
